The effects of probiotics and prebiotics for maintenance and optimisation of skin health and function throughout the life course.

RESEARCH QUESTION

Together with leading researchers from King’s College London, including Prof Kevin Whelan, Dr Wendy Hall & Thivi Maruthappu, Dr Emily Prpa is investigating how oral probiotics and prebiotics can improve and optimise skin health and prevent inflammatory skin conditions.

Can Consuming Prebiotics and Probiotics improve skin health across the entire lifecourse?

This research aims to provide the probiotics/prebiotics industry with a clear steer on type and quantity of evidence available, including areas where evidence is sufficient to guide health claim dossiers and where further research could open possibilities for new product development.
